Which devices does Nearmind run on?
iPads with an M1 chip or newer (iPad Pro, iPad Air), iPad mini with A17 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro or newer. These have enough memory and graphics power to run a capable model well. The App Store only offers Nearmind on these devices.
How big is the download?
It depends on the model Nearmind picks for your device. On most iPads it is Qwen 3.5 4B, about 3 GB. Smaller models are under 2 GB and the largest is about 6 GB. Wi-Fi is best; Nearmind warns you if you are on cellular data.
My download stopped. What now?
Keep Nearmind open while it downloads, because iOS pauses downloads for apps in the background. If it is interrupted, tap Download again. Files that already finished are kept, so it continues from where it stopped.
Does it really work offline?
Yes. After the model is downloaded, Nearmind needs no connection. Try it in Airplane Mode.
Where are my chats stored?
Only on your device. Swipe a chat to delete it. Deleting the app removes everything. See the privacy policy for details.
How do I free up space or delete a model?
Open Models, then tap Delete on a model. About → Delete all downloaded models removes every model at once. Your chats are kept.
Can I use a different model?
Yes. Models lists every model with whether it fits your device. Download another one and tap Use this model.
Why did an answer stop or the app close?
Running a model uses a lot of memory. If the app closes, quit other apps and reopen Nearmind, or switch to a smaller model. Nearmind also stops answering when you leave the app, because iOS does not allow this work in the background.
Are the answers always right?
No. Local models are capable but can be wrong or out of date, and they have no internet access. Check anything important, especially facts, numbers, medical, legal or financial information.
