Nearmind privacy policy
Short version: the Nearmind app does not collect your data. Your conversations stay on your device.
What we collect
Nothing. Nearmind has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We do not run a server that the app talks to, so we never receive your messages, your files or information about how you use the app.
Your conversations
Every message you type and every answer the model writes is processed on your device by the model stored on it. Conversations are saved only on your device, in the app's private storage with iOS data protection, so they are encrypted while your device is locked. Deleting a chat, or deleting the app, removes them. They are not sent to us or to anyone else.
Downloading models
The only time Nearmind uses the internet is to download model files you choose. These come from Hugging Face (huggingface.co). As with any download, Hugging Face receives the request, including your IP address and the name of the file. No conversation content is ever sent with it. Hugging Face's handling of those requests is covered by its own privacy policy. Once a model is downloaded, Nearmind works fully offline.
Information about your device
To recommend a model, Nearmind reads your device's model name, chip, memory, graphics memory and free storage. This stays on the device and is only used to pick and run a model.
The launch waitlist (this website)
The app collects nothing. Separately, if you join the waitlist on nearmind.live, we store the email address you enter, the time you joined and, if you choose one, whether you use an iPad or an iPhone. We use it only to tell you when Nearmind is on the App Store and about major updates. We never sell or share it. To be removed, email us and we will delete it.
Payments
Nearmind is sold through the Apple App Store. Apple handles the purchase, and we do not receive your payment details. Apple's privacy policy covers that purchase.
Children
Nearmind does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information at all.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above. If Nearmind ever starts to collect data, we will say so here and in the App Store listing before it happens.
